Thumbtacks + Glue is Woodpigeon's first full-length since February 2010's Die Stadu Muzikanten, but the past three years have been anything but quiet with the release of two unofficial full-lengths, Balladeer in October 2010 and Diamonds this past September, to coincide with a North American tour supporting Patrick Wolf, along with multiple EPs and single.

To kickoff our 10-year anniversary, we're going larger than life with some of our favourite covers. Check out the ION billboards on the corner of Broadway and Kingsway in East Vancouver (just around the corner from our last pop-up shop). A big thank you to everyone who has been a part of the ION team along the way, including our contributors, photographers, distribution teams, and of course all our readers!

We love learning, but we loathe the debt that comes with it. That's why we love Trade School, a non-traditional learning community that runs on barter. Teachers propose classes and ask for barter items from the students; and students sign up for classes by agreeing to bring such barter items for the teacher. It's an easy concept: giving back to each other in more meaningful ways than what monetary value holds.

Into the Thicket chronicles the journey of a few skateboarders' trek into the forests of Vancouver Island to skate a ramp constructed using the surrounding environment and few other materials. Full length video coming soon. Featuring: Chris Haslam, Todd Myers, Mat Howell

CHARLES & GRACE JEWELLERY Love the look of body chain jewellery, but don’t want to spend $20 on a piece of metal that will turn you green, and don’t have the means to drop $2,000 on real gold? We’ve discovered Charles & Grace Jewellery, a Vancouver-based, hand-made jewellery line, focusing on body harnesses, as well as head pieces and more traditional items such as necklaces and rings. Created by self taught Vancouverite Danielle Webster, and made in her home studio, her collection is truly beautiful, covetable, and affordable. The line starts at $28 and goes up to $70.

We came across the Everyday Music Project just recently and thought that it was definitely worth sharing. Started by Vancouverite, Rod Matheson, the site explores all the music that Rod can find/hear/know over 1000 days, and he is posting one new song by a new artist every single day until he reaches 1000. Some of the videos are shot at live shows and others are shot in random spaces, but there is definitely something for everyone on the site.

Sunshine began playing songs sometime in 2011 in Vancouver, Canada. When they played, the guitars would get a little louder, the vocals a little fuzzier and the drums a bit faster. The five-piece quickly found they were happier when they got together. The songs contradict the fact that their hometown of Vancouver spends the majority of the year covered in a gray cloud canopy. Their songs provide Sunshine.
