Adrian Glynn Premieres New Video

Vancouver’s Adrian Glynn wants to wish you all a very Happy Valentine’s Day with the premiere of his brand new video for the single, “The Kind That Keeps You Up At Night.” Directed by Erik Horn the video was inspired by a line from the television series Transparent.  When lead actor Jeffrey Tambor’s character comes out a trans woman to his daughter she asks, “So this means you'll be dressing up as a woman now?" and he responds, "Honey, all my life, my whole life, I've been dressing up like a man".  The clip features the actors Sarah Cooper and Aiden Ferreira that we see from both the perspective of being a boy and a girl. It’s never spelt out what the “correct” way to see this character is and the ambiguous nature of this lends the whole affair with a depth and poignancy that is refreshing.

The song itself, produced by Glynn and Tom Dobrzanski of The Zolas, is a dreamy synth pop delight that showcases Glynn’s lovely voice. It’s the kind of thing that is tailor made for a little cuddling, so feel free to grab your Valentine, Palentine or Galentine and sink into this.
