Alex Frankel of Holy Ghost! Releases Solo Single

Before LCD Soundsystem decided that the wine bar business wasn't as good at the top tier North American festival business, Holy Ghost! somewhat unsuccessfully tried to do to them what the Black Keys did when the White Stripes retired: take their place and immediately charge three times as much for a show. The move made sense. The world needed an outfit to replace the premiere live dance act. Their relative output never really reached the masses like their team counted on and they have been on hiatus for a few years with the occasional release that, although not transcendent, is reliable dance music, better than almost all their peers. Alex of the band has released a solo single today in advance of an EP that comes out on Friday. It harkens back to Holy Ghost!'s best, if not most underrated single, "Do It Again", and although it isn't quite the arpeggiated floor filler of "Do It Again", "Negative Space" won't lose any fans or clubbers if it's dropped at the right moment of the night.
