Black Lips Release New Sean Lennon-Produced Single

Yesterday Atlanta’s favorite garage rockers The Black Lips released “Squatting In Heaven,” the new single off of their upcoming album Satan’s Graffiti or God’s Art ahead of its release May 5th via Vice Records. In a seeming unlikely pairing the fellas hooked up with Sean Lennon to produce the new record and given the latter's proclivity to err on the poppier side of things, be that genetic or otherwise, Black Lips new material remains as wonderfully chaotic as ever. Buoyed by some infectious and deep saxophone droning courtesy of new member Zumi Rosow, “Squatting in Heaven” is a blast. All gang vocals and guitar riffing with a surprisingly restrained four on the floor groove that breaks into a quiet bridge before bursting into an explosive outro. Satan’s Graffiti or God’s Art reportedly features a appearance by Sean’s mum Yoko Ono so until we see how that fits into the Black Lips oeuvre, fans of the band should be pretty pleased for now to bask in all of the rock n roll glory of “Squatting in Heaven”
