Brutes Premiere "Inside"

Anyone who has ever spent a little bit of time around Vancouver’s music scene knows that this city is known for not only breeding huge worldwide hitmakers but also for an underground of artists who intend to create something that is unique and, at the very least, interesting. Cue Brutes, a new analogue synth-based darkwave project from vocalist Lindsay Dakin, keyboardist Christian Pelech and programmer Jonathan Salvatore. The band has just shared their new single “Inside” ahead of their self-titled EP (POP ERA), which drops Friday, October 21^st. 

While the blend of 80s pop, industrial and electro may not be all that original, Brutes, with producers Salvatore and Felix Fung, display a deftness at evoking what has come before them and manage to create something more than just moody soundscapes and ethereal vocals. It remains on the calmer side of the spectrum but “Inside” has an intention to it that leaves a mark and teases an exciting potential from this talented trio.
