Review | Blink182 - California

First things first, I am and always have been a fan. This band came around at exactly the right time in my adolescence to reel me in with catchy hooks and a goofy attitude helping to really relieve some of those angsty moments. All of that is still intact on California. This is a really solid album for a band full of late thirty-somethings who make music about the feelings of a sixteen year-old boy. The addition of Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio) on vocals lends a bit of maturity in the place of Tom's SoCal whine. Oh, did I not mention that Tom Delonge has left the band to go hunt aliens because he has a whole whack of extraterrestrial secrets that the U.S. Government has been begging to get their hands on? Well yeah, he's doing that for real. Anyway, play this album, pretend you're a teen again and always, ALWAYS...watch the skies.
