Stream Premiere - Ultrviolence "Black Sea" EP

Calgary's Ultrviolence have a specific sound, and it's not one you haven't heard before. The dangerous "D" word in music criticism is "derivative" and it's thrown around so much that its usage has become exactly its meaning. Ultraviolence may have baritone vocals, and they may have a dark guitar sound not unlike the forefathers of post-punk, but it's unlikely that anyone would call what they are doing unoriginal. There is an earnest, yet bleak sound to their music, and perhaps their personalities. They do a service to their genre without ever exploiting the path that was paved before them. Even the most soured fan of this style would most likely find their record true to the form. We have the exclusive stream of their Black Sea EP today.
