They Might Be Giants "The Greatest" Starring Nick Offerman

They Might Be Giants are as about a singular thing as you can be in the music industry these days. They are clearly from a different time but have still managed to keep their songs feeling vital and fresh, and that’s no small feat for a duo that has been crafting wonderful and wonderfully pithy music for over 30 years now. The band has just recently released their twelfth studio album, I Like Fun, and today they grace us with the Nick Offerman starring video for “The Greatest”. A whimsically baroque number, “The Greatest”, is a lament regarding someone who has been dealing with, or actually more so not dealing with, a lifetime of torment and sarcasm directed his way. The clip, directed by the awesomely named Alex Italics, flips flops between a man working intensely on what appears to be a Nick Offerman type body suit and Nick Offerman dryly singing the track directly into the camera. It’s a piece as singular as They Might Be Giants are and one that is a perfect representation to anyone who is just getting onboard with this veteran act.
