Video of the Day | Thundercat's "Song for the Dead"

 Today we are celebrating another great contribution to the musical ether from artist Thundercat (Stephen Bruner) with an animated video to accompany “Song for The Dead” - the second track on his critically-acclaimed mini album The Beyond / Where the Giants Roam, which came out a year ago today. The video was directed and animated by Australian visual artist RyNo, who reached out to Stephen with the video over Twitter! It comes as no surprise that this collaborative piece premiered on American cable network Adult Swim's Facebook page today, as we have seen them backing Thundercat and many other Brainfeeder artists in recent years. The video can now be seen via Adult Swim and YouTube, and on air this Saturday night. 

Stephen Bruner is a hugely positive force in music today, putting forward works that have both style and substance to back them up. If his psychadellic six-string bass playing and flowing vocals aren't enough to take you to another planet, the visual art he pairs with the music will get you there. If not, you’re probably a narc. RyNo’s animated adventure sees Thundercat as a Hendrix-esque, caped bass god guiding a wolf into the afterlife with his bass and electronic drum pad. It’s well known that Thundercat likes to get trippy - seems like the video could have been one of his personal experiences on a few good hits of acid.
