Wants & Needs | Milk Makeup

The newest makeup line for 2016 is “Milk Makeup.” Multifunctional, high-tech formulas built for the girl on the go who spends less time getting done up, and more time getting stuff done. The line’s categories includes; eye, lip, face, skin, and hair, with eco-conscious ingredients such as lavender, avocado oil, shea butter, and coconut wax. The team came up with some cute New York references for the brand, such as the Milk Highlighter called "Lit" after the bar in the Lower East Side. We WANT & NEED all of it, especially the Milk Cooling Water.

VIDEO OF THE DAY : Leon Bridges | River [Video]

2015 ION cover boy, Leon Bridges, is America's fastest rising music star, and for good reason. He seems to drip with authenticity and earnest devotion to soul music. Even the recordings have a certain talent for sounding exactly like the era he is aping (unlike the Steve Lillywhite-y, contemporary filter that the late Ms. Winehouse always had on her recordings).

Lila Rose | All The Beauty [audio]

Lila Rose claims to have an "ultrasound sensitivity", which is kind of like those "super tasters", who can't drink any booze except for mead (ed note: gross), and make those retching histrionics any time they accidentally eat cilantro, except it's with your ears and not your tongue. Apparently it's like a simultaneous curse and gift, but unlike those taste bud super humans, the rest of us get songs like this from Toronto-born, but California citizen, Lila Rose.

Conway | "Sudden Dawn"

This new track by Conway stood out this week, mostly because it was by the first contemporary female solo artist, mostly electronic, who didn't mention Grimes as an influence in her press release in what feels like three years. What's perhaps more impressive than that, is the Los Angeles through St. Louis artist, managed to get signed to Columbia Records and then wriggle free of the contract, while getting her masters back.

The Raveonettes | This World Is Empty (Without You) [Video]

The Raveonettes have marched to their own drum since they formed in 2000, so it is no surprise that Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo decided to do things a little bit differently with their new "anti-album" in 2016. The duo have released a brand new track entitled This World Is Empty (Without You) as part of a series called "Rave-Sounds-Of-The-Month", a collection of new songs that will be released one at a time on the last Friday of every month until the end of the year.

Wants & Needs | The North Face "Access Pack"

Best known for their activewear, The North Face is positioning itself to be known as the game changer in the backpack market with the launch of the Access Pack. What is the big deal about this backpack? Remember when you would rummage through your one compartment backpack to find your; keys, phone, pen, ipad, computer, business cards, water bottle? Well, I remember it like it was yesterday. Oh wait, it was!

Dire Skate | the state of skate in Montreal

The Montreal skate community is huge. We all know that back in the day most cities were totally intolerant of skateboarding -- harassing, fining, even arresting skaters – but in many places, this attitude has changed, giving way to free public skateparks, legalization and a new attitude towards the sport and lifestyle. So why is the city of Montreal so behind the times?

Paulie's Barbershop | Best Hood Feel Good

Paul Donnici, formerly from The Belmont, has opened up a traditional barber shop in the Vancouver neighborhood of Little Mountain, and we couldn't be any more excited about it. Paulie's Barbershop focuses on great traditional cuts and male grooming, as well a carefully curated, high quality range of self care products and grooming tools from California, Italy, England, Victoria, Spain, and Australia.

Grimes | Kill V Maim [video]

Grimes puts out her latest video for the song Kill V Maim, and it is what you would expect. Much like the video for "Genesis", Kill V Maim has the same glossy, Mad Max meets female dancers vibe going on, but this time it has a bit more of a Japanese art feeling to it. Quite a departure from her earlier videos, but not in a bad way. Let us know your thoughts.
