Hills Like Elephants | "Fall Through" EXCLUSIVE [audio]

San Diego quintet Hills Like Elephants return with the moody and introverted new single "Fall Through". The sound is a departure from their known brand of indie white-boy soul. After their ill-fated sophomore LP, they fell out with their previous record label which lead them into what they are now referring to as The Bedroom Sessions, which will be followed up by their 3rd LP which is being recorded at Lost Ark Studios.

EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY | PRINCE AVALANCHE [REVIEW]

Being Texan natives, Explosions In The Sky often sound like they're writing a love letter to the vastness of their state's landscape. That wandering, raw, unpolished quality, and the fact they have no words in their songs, makes their music easily translatable to a film score. Written as a soundtrack to a film of the same name, Prince Avalanche has more complex arrangements than earlier EITS. It also feels a little mellower though, which will probably be a let down for fans of the group.

Tennis System | Technicolour Blind [VIDEO]

Known for their lo-fi psychedelia style, Tennis System premieres their latest video for "Technicolour Blind." The first 23-seconds hits you with strobe effects and fast edits—the video comes with a warning for those people with photosensitivity to refrain from viewing it—while in the calmer moments, front man, Matty Taylor soothes us with post

RocketNumberNine | MeYouWeYou [REVIEW]

Response to RocketNumberNine’s debut album was pretty darn good. Four Tet signed them to his Text label without hesitation, and the Godfather of all that is right with music, Thom Yorke, invited them on tour with him. When I played their most recent album to a group of friends, many continued to chatter. One glanced towards me with a puzzled look on his face. “Techno?!” Tech….no. Not exactly.

Bam!Bam! | Golden Haze 2 [EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE]

Bam!Bam! is the Bay Area duo of Zola and Chloe and they're not your average guitar/drums duo. They don't pretend to be siblings, they don't pretend to be the band that pretended to be siblings, and they're not about to win any MTV awards or get into bed with a Korean phone/television company. Their latest video for "Golden Haze 2" comes wailing in like a lost, female-fronted Calvin Johnson gem, and ION has its premiere.
