Purity Ring | Another Eternity [ALBUM REVIEW]

Another Eternity from Purity Ring is a journey through space seen through the minds-eye of a robo-pixie struggling against a steady diet of astronaut bread and melatonin. The first half of this album feels like an accurate representation of floating listlessly after being banished to a cold void (hi, General Zod!) with no faith in your hastily scraped-together-from-nineties-car-parts spacecraft. Trap nebulas in the form of "Flood On the Floor" and let "Dust Hymn" occasionally wake you from this hyper-sleep inducing romp, but without a Danny Brown type to help stay the course they're just unnecessary tourist traps on an utterly aimless journey. It seemed like a good idea after the successful test launch of the U.S.S. Shrines but this seems to be too ambitious of a mission for inexperienced pilots. Space travel is boring and we've been out here too long.
