Sisu | Blood Tears

I’m probably not the right guy to review this album. From the first note, I knew this was going to be catnip for me. I was unfamiliar with the band name but some quick research brought me to learn that SISU is Sandra Vu’s project. Sandra Vu, for the unfamiliar and unwashed masses, is the demolishing, gorgeous drummer for the Dum Dum Girls. She changes roles here to take on lead vocal duties. The drums and beautiful vocals are understandably at the forefront of a lot of these songs, constructed in a way I’m a complete sucker for; pop songs that don’t sound like pop songs. Give standout tracks “Cut Me Off”, “Return the Favor” and the title track a shot.
