King Tuff debut "Psycho Star"

The sprawl of Los Angeles is a very unique thing. Even if you haven’t been there before you’ve probably seen enough movies to know exactly what that looks and probably smells like. From the businessmen rushing along on their phones to the angelic youth soaking up the sun atop a pair of roller blades to the ranting and ravings of the more eccentric members of the community, the new Cameron Dutra directed video for “Psycho Star” by psychedelic provocateur King Tuff deftly captures both the surreal and humdrum aspects of this world.

They Might Be Giants "The Greatest" Starring Nick Offerman

They Might Be Giants are as about a singular thing as you can be in the music industry these days. They are clearly from a different time but have still managed to keep their songs feeling vital and fresh, and that’s no small feat for a duo that has been crafting wonderful and wonderfully pithy music for over 30 years now. The band has just recently released their twelfth studio album, I Like Fun, and today they grace us with the Nick Offerman starring video for “The Greatest”.

The Ballantynes: Video & Single Premiere for "Villain"

The Ballantynes are trouble. Their organ speckled grooves, smooth bass lines and all around well-dressed, tambourine-shaking bad attitudes make them so hard to resist. Yesterday the Vancouver-based R&B outfit released their new track and video for the absolutely alluring “Villain”.  Directed by Greg Gillespie, the clip is shot almost entirely in close up, cloaking the band and their rag tag group of pals in an aura of mystery.

Papa Roach’s “Born for Greatness” Video Is Actually Pretty Inspiring

In a world gone mad greatness is a precious commodity these days. For Papa Roach, patron saints of the suburban wasteland and 4-H clubs everywhere, the decision to release their new video “Born for Greatness” exclusively via Apple Music means that scores of their angst-ridden teenage fans are now reduced to getting their greatness fix elsewhere, presumably from a dime bag or the overturned Fleshlight truck on Route 9 (you can’t miss it).

ION Premiere: Gemology - "Come Around"

Joanie Wolkoff is a plucky musician. Her varied and constant creative output should be studied for a pamphlet on how to be an artist. Living in New York City after defecting from Toronto, and still maintaining a life, a passion, and putting out song after song of warm creations a listener just wants to curl up in until Labour Day, is pretty much impossible, even in a half-decent musical climate, of which we are certainly not in.

Black Mirror-Like "Little Destroyer" Video Is Perfection

Little Destroyer has this great ability to write danceable pop hits that are tempered with a healthy dose of melancholy. Their new track, and namesake, “Little Destroyer” puts this talent on display in the best possible way. A few weeks ago, the Vancouver based trio release the video for said track and it is a perfect visual accompaniment to the song. Directed by Connor McGuire, with the concept by himself and the band, the clip plays out like a scaled down Black Mirror episode.

Petra Glynt's "This You Need" Off Of 'This Trip' Is A Trip

A lot of press has been given to multimedia artist Petra Glynt’s recent issues while embarking on a European tour a couple of months ago. The Montreal based musician was refused entry into the U.K. and detained for over 50 hours, some of which was partially in a high security immigration refusal center. Hopefully some of the writing that has been devoted to this unfortunate incident has also inspired curious readers to search out some of Glynt’s recent output.
