A lot has changed for Diamond Rings - the stage name for John O'Reagan's electro-pop creation - since the 2010 release of his first album Special Affections. Initially signed to Montreal's Secret City Records, John-O Was scooped up by EMI's Astralwerks and has been garnering some much deserved attention.

San Francisco artist Liz Hickok constructed a dramatic cityscapes of her city entirely out of Jell-O. Not only is this instalation beautiful, the gelatinous material also parallels the geological uncertainties of San Francisco’s landscape. She has also recreated the Whitehouse and New York out of Jell-O in the past as well. J-E-L-L-O!

Peaches Does Herself could more aptly be titled Peaches Is Herself, or, simply, Peaches. Such is the level of sexualized frenzy and post-taboo theatrics that is associated with her work—Peaches Does Herself is almost a redundancy. In this her feature film debut, she does not withhold or disappoint, taking us on an “epic biographical journey through 22 original songs,” accompanied by obscene choreography following a loosely strung together narrative.

Cincinnati's an interesting place. You don't find this kind of thing in Canada's Cincinnati; Sarnia. Tim Willig, Cincinnati's man-about-town, is the Queen City's source of many late-night laugh-riots, and Culture Queer's video for "U Bummin' Mr. Drummond" is impeccable in it's timing today. I think I'm going to find myself a Nudie Suit, a 6-pack of Hudepohl, and a boom box... time to dance.
