Alex Cameron

Alex Cameron is the guy you don’t know yet, but has been observing you. He’s that outcast dark horse singing in a dimly lit Karaoke bar with the “golden pipes”. The one who seems shrouded in light with his deep baritone voice and off-beat showmanship; a welcome relief from the drunk who has sung the same AC/DC song poorly for the third time. He’s the guy in the corner drinking his drinks and memorizing your stories, craftily turning them into songs with the writing skills he picked up working as an investigator’s assistant.

Wants & Needs | 40s & Shorties: Crying Game Socks

Say what you will about Kim Kardashian - and you’ve probably said some stuff - but she’s definitely an icon. An icon of fashion? Beauty? Being famous? We may not be sure exactly what makes her iconic but she’s not going anywhere and we have to make the best of it. Show your support for Saint and North’s mom - or at least keep your feet warm - with these Kim K. crying socks from 40s & Shorties. And with these socks you’ll be keeping up - sorry had to - with culture.

Carly Rae Jepsen E•MO•TION Side B: LISTEN

Side B's predecessor, E•MO•TION, was released to critical fanfare but didn’t meet record sales expectations after Carly Rae’s infectious first single about piss poor flirting technique. However, as The Get Down reminded you all, gays control the dance charts and over the course of a year (and a few circuit parties with Madam) they ate up E•MO•TION, cementing it as requisite pop in baby queer starter packs.

Interview: La Sera's Katy Goodman & Springtime Carnivore's Greta Morgan

This September, for the first time in over 30 years, Glenn Danzig is going to step onstage with the rest of the Misfits to perform horror rock anthems like "Where Eagles Dare," no doubt leading thousands of devilocked devotees at the Denver and Chicago Riot Fests through its sing-along of  "I ain't no god

ACTORS Debut New Song + Interview

Jason Corbett from ACTORS has become one of the leading characters steering the Vancouver independent music movement, and although it seems like it happened over night, it has been brewing for years. He's a plucky, pithy talent and not only do we have an exclusive of their new song, but we have a fun back and forth with him to start off your week. Enjoy.

What's the worst part about full length albums in 2016?

Our Favourite Post from #DEB Vancouver

If you live in Vancouver we are pretty sure that you are aware that Diner En Blanc took place last night. Your facebook feed has probably been hijacked by images of your friends or people that you know dressed in all white for this exclusive event. Through all of the "white" noise, one of the attendants posts stood out from all the rest, and that is why we would like to honour this "no fucks given" partier who trolled the event and had us laughing so hard it hurt.

Thank you Victoria Potter!

Let's Throwback Thursday to this Insane Klymaxx Video

Okay, so we all have our blind spots. I'm not proud of having this one, because it's been a week now and I can't stop thinking about it. Plus, I consider myself an expert on 1980s boogie pop and extended mixes. Anyone who knows this inside and out already can just skip over to our next story, but for the uninitiated, I hope you enjoy this video as much as I do.

The Gaze | Eyelevel Gallery

Eyelevel Gallery, a Nova Scotian non-profit, and charitable organization, is not your typical art gallery. Founded by female artists under the name Inventions Gallery in 1972, the space changed its name to its current one in 1974, alongside opening its membership to include male artists.
