Landeau Flowers

Want to spoil someone special? Or even yourself? We recommend these, big time. These elegantly packaged, beautifully arranged, and vibrantly coloured roses have a whimsy feel and European flair. Landeau sets out to create a unique, updated experience on the age-old expression of sending flowers, and to create a simple yet luxurious brand, bridging the gap between the traditional gesture and modern ecommerce.

WALTER'S SON

Founded in 2013 by designer Kyle Parent, Vancouver-based and manufactured men’s shirt line WALTER’S SON is making preparations for their next collection for the Fall/Winter 2015 season, and living up to the hype. WALTER’S SON is a minimal and clean men’s line, which focuses on quality construction, rather than flashy fashion gimmicks. With minimal lines and unexpected details, this collection is dominated by a black and white palette, soft Japanese cotton and Quebec leather, and sharp tailoring.

Lovebot

What better way to inject love into a sprawling concrete jungle than to physically manifest it across the city. That’s what artist and designer Matthew Del Degan did four years ago in Toronto, when he created Lovebot. Part of the Love Invasion movement, Lovebot’s aim is to evoke a sense of  wonder, community, compassion, and warm fuzzy feelings in the hearts of people around the city, and we vouch for the fact that it works!

Valery Gore | S.O. [VIDEO]

Valery Gore's new video "S.O." from her LP Idols In The Dark Heart is incredibly minimal, but brimming with so much intimacy that it's almost too voyeuristic... too personal... and it's gorgeous for being so.

Idols In The Dark Heart is a total DIY effort of gorgeous avant-pop. Valery has constructed everything on her own from her self-shot photography to the this very video.

Ennui | Summer of Love [VIDEO]

Here are your choices; You can go out with your two best friends and get super drunk to the point that you buy drugs from Kip on the street, get some tinfoil Source Family from Mars cult acid and end up falling (publicly) in love with that gorgeous brunette you've known since your eight year old selves buried that "time capsule" made of twigs and secrets in the sandbox and have a roller-coaster summer romance ending in unfinished tracks. Or you can do the same drink/drug combo, shave Capt.

The French Connection

The way I see it, deciding to be an artist is sort of like deciding to move to Montreal. In theory, it seems like a wonderful, brilliant idea. The city is beautiful, full of culture and art. The food is amazing. The festivals are world-renowned. People sip coffee in quaint little cafes, and have picnics of wine, baguette, and cheese in the park (It’s not just a stereotype. We really do that!) What a fabulous idea, moving to Montreal!

TEDxVancouver

We all know that Vancouver is now home to the inspirational TED talks, but there’s also the lesser-known TEDx series, too. This years TEDxVancouver event is the fifth edition, and the largest in history. Taking place on October 18 at the Queen Elizabeth theatre, TEDx is an independent, self organized event, with leaders from varying fields and expertise, including business, philanthropy, academics, sports, music, theatre, technology, architecture, advertising, and marketing.
