Vancouver’s Visual College of Art & Design (VCAD) is having an open house tomorrow, December 1st, called Total Work of Art. With a variety of activities lined up from 12:00 pm -10:00 pm, the event aims to showcase the school's talented artists from the Interior Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, and Game Design programs, through a gallery setting, fashion show and social. The event is aimed toward those who are creative and have a strong interest in contemporary art, supporting local artists, and exploring different artistic options.

After a stint at the Pivot Art & Culture in Seattle this past August, the Juxtapoz x Superflat show is now taking over the fifth-largest art gallery in Canada: the Vancouver Art Gallery. The exhibition showcases the works of more than 30 artists from all around the world and has been described as a manifesto celebrating new creative practices.

Montreal’s La Petite Garçonne, an offshoot of Boutique 1861 (everyone’s favourite online store) has this shirt. It’s called the Rowde Réglisse and you should be wearing it right now. This is more than a shirt. Just kidding. It’s just a shirt but it’s really pretty and will pair well with jeans. You can do that half tuck thing that says, “I’m fun but I’m also business”, or let it fall. It doesn’t matter how you wear it because it’ll look great.

Slowmotions is the project of singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Brassell. After forming the band in Nashville and releasing the first Slowmotions album Quick Potions in 2009, Brassell left Music City for the sprawl of Los Angeles. His new album The Domes is the direct consequence of that move.

The new Theophilus London/Ariel Pink track “Revenge” just dropped via Fools Gold and has immediately made the world seem a little bit brighter. All bop and bounce and filled with one of the hookiest vocal melodies that I’ve heard recently, “Revenge” capitalizes on the strengths of both of its notorious collaborators. The song kicks off with a strong four on the floor kick drum that is complimented with a bass line that is so dug into the groove it’s practically buried up to it’s knees.
