The Gaze | Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba

The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba's history goes all the way back to 1907. Formerly known as the Brandon Art Club, the public gallery not only offered regular exhibitions but also provided classes in drawing, painting and art history. Fuelled by a community-based enthusiasm for visual art, the space quickly gained recognition in Brandon and the southwest Manitoba region - so much so that a permanent space for studios and exhibition was established and rename the Brandon Allied Arts Council in 1959.

Rag & Bone: Harrow Boot

Not sure if the Harrow Boot from Rag & Bone was named after a farming tool, a school in England or a municipality in Ontario but you need a pair so who cares where the name comes from. These boots are classic and can be paired with denim or fancy wear. Plus, they’re this blushy taupe colour that’s so hot right now. The Harrow’s are leather-lined and have a padded footbed so you can wear them all day without your feet hating you. Don’t you hate it when your feet hate you? The worst!

1994: The Year Boomer Hate Rock Broke

When five middle-aged schmucks get the band back together after years away from the spotlight, it’s usually the kind of nostalgic feel-good ride saved for a Hollywood sequel, not an excuse to spew bile on their audience being led astray. After all, it’s not like the Eagles, America’s patron saints of bridge and tunnel rock, were ever known for pushing any sort of political agenda beyond venerating SoCal hedonism and the male ego, both of which contributed squarely to their demise in 1980.

Trentemøller's New EP 'Fixion' Doesn't Disappoint

Danish producer Trentemøller is back with a new EP entitled 'Fixion' and I couldn't be happier about it. His productions are deep, haunting and evoke emotions that are at times both melancholic and beautiful. Andres has been around for a long time but he always manages to stay relevant by reinventing his sound while never failing to affect.

Song of the Day | Bonobo - "Kerala"

Throughout his career, Bonobo has consistently delivered some of the best contemporary electronic music, drawing from a deep well of styles and inspiration in a state of constant evolution. His 2010 release Black Sar1ds is a triumph of electronic music and The North Borders which followed felt like a natural progression from its predecessor. His latest single "Kerala" reminds us why Bonobo deserves our attention.

Video of the Day | Train's "Drive By" (For those awkward, middle-aged one-night stands)

Summer might be over, but who can forget those hot Okanagan nights? Thanks to Train, listeners can enjoy the carefree joy of a budding summer romance any time of year. I really don’t know much about Train, other than the fact that they dress like denim-clad dads kicking back after a beer league softball game. “Drive By”, the debut single from 2012’s California 37, starts this party off right by comparing the casual nature of a one night stand to a gangland shooting. Is it in poor taste?

The LEGO Batman Movie – Trailer #4

The LEGO Movie was great and I love Will Arnett's "LEGO Batman" character, but I'm a little vexed about this movie. Is there a LEGO Gotham City? Does LEGO Gotham City exist in the same universe as The LEGO Movie? Are they still in Will Ferrel's basement?

Why is there much pop music in this trailer? Are music royalties way cheaper if you're making your movie in LEGO? Did they get LEGO Wiz Khalifa to perform "Black and Yellow"?

Trainspotting 2 Trailer

It looks like the gang's all here and accounted for! The fact that they're still alive suggests that they've cleaned up their acts somewhat, so it looks like we'll be exploring some new territory with them. They've at least moved on to less fatal drug habits by the looks of things.
