The Comedian Looks Like a Huge Bomb

There is no facet of stand up comedy at this point that has been left unexamined in popular culture. Yet The Comedian seems to think it's taking us behind the curtain into a secret romantic subculture. It’s as if the filmmakers don’t know that stand up comedy is already the subject of several dozen very popular TV shows, movies, podcasts, and web series. This doesn’t even seem that accurate.

Finally, a New Jesus and Mary Chain Song and It Isn't Dreadful

After 18 years The Jesus And Mary Chain have announced they will be releasing their new album, Damage And Joy, in 2017. To tide us over until it drops next year the Reid brothers have debuted that album’s first single, “Amputation”. Since their reunion in 2007 JAMC have been teasing new material and other than a one off, “All Things Must Pass” in 2008, this is the first taste of what they have been working on and I am delighted to say it’s nice to have them back.

Canadian-made and absolutely gorgeous, put the Cordoba Lace top from UNTTLD on your holiday wish list and hopefully someone loves you enough to buy it for you. Or at least give you money to buy it for yourself.

Apollo Up! releases "Walking The Plank"

It’s been ten years since Nashville’s Apollo Up! released the post hardcore blowout Chariots Of Fire and that amount of time felt right for Yewknee Records to announce that the album will be getting a special vinyl release to commemorate.  Featuring a sparkling new mastering job by John Baldwin (Public Image Ltd, Jesus Lizard), the lead single and album opener “Walking The Plank”, sounds as angry and vital as it did a decade ago.

Music Profile | Marching Church

Elias Rønnenfelt’s latest Marching Church album is like a dark, meandering winter's dream. The sound is a lot more cohesive than his previous two albums but still true to Rønnenfelt's abstract sound composition. Marching Church was originally a solo project, but now he has ramped up the production with a full-out backing band, that serves to enhance his dramatic vocals even further.

In your latest album "Telling it Like is" you have a more dark unified sound, why did you decide to head in this direction for your latest album?
