We can't always premiere white-hot contemporary videos at ION. Sometimes we have to remember the past, because it's peculiar. It's funny how pop music ages. Songs our parents would roll their eyes to in the 70s are often enjoyed by today's younger generation, while the music they considered "boss" at the time, is often cringeworthy to revisit. It'll happen to you too.

Video of the Day | Radiohead - "Burn the Witch"

After days of rampant speculation, Radiohead have finally released the video for the new single “Burn The Witch,” and what a very Radiohead experience it is. It comes complete with the unnerving sense of dread that kicks in from the moment you hit play but this dread just happens to be rendered out in a delightfully saturated, Rankin and Bass-esque stop motion animation. The clip plays out, essentially, as a prequel to the movie Hot Fuzz and climaxes in homage to the original Wicker Man.

POP Montreal: Initial 2016 Lineup Just Announced

POP Montreal is returning this fall, and it seems by the partial reveal of the 2016 lineup that the 15-year old festival keeps getting better and better. According to today's press release, here's a taste of what we're in store for:

*French composer and synth funk genius Wally Badarou, who collaborated with everyone from Grace Jones to Jimmy Cliff and the Talking Heads

*The enchanting singer-songwriter Angel Olsen

*The truly iconic filmmaker and author John Waters

The Local With Shades of Culture's DJ Storm

Montrealer Dave Blake, aka DJ Storm, is a DJ, turntablist, producer, drummer and audio engineer with over 25 years of music industry experience -- notably as a member of the pioneering hip hop group Shades of Culture. Raised by Jamaican and Trinidadian parents, he spent most of his childhood and teenage years on a baseball diamond that led to a scholarship in the US, before getting hurt and turning to music. A few names he's worked alongside include DJ Qbert, Eminem, The Roots, KRS-One and The Backstreet Boys.
