Jesse Berlin | Elvis Blessings & Louboutin Lessons

When the nice folks at ION first got in touch with me about doing this interview, they acknowledged that I have a track record of being, shall we say, less than friendly to the majority of music journalists who have crossed my path. In my defense, every journalist who has been sent to interview me in the past just happened to be a barely literate failure of a human being.

Paulie's Barbershop | Best Hood Feel Good

Paul Donnici, formerly from The Belmont, has opened up a traditional barber shop in the Vancouver neighborhood of Little Mountain, and we couldn't be any more excited about it. Paulie's Barbershop focuses on great traditional cuts and male grooming, as well a carefully curated, high quality range of self care products and grooming tools from California, Italy, England, Victoria, Spain, and Australia.

ENCYCLOPEDIA HEARSAY | ANDY WARHOL

The Encyclopedia Hearsay was founded on four principles: misinformation, rumours, half-remembered conversations, and outright lies. Anyone can contribute, so long as articles are written with no research whatsoever. If you are citing The Land Before Time as a source, or abusing footnotes like David Foster Wallace, you are on the right track.

Grimes | Kill V Maim [video]

Grimes puts out her latest video for the song Kill V Maim, and it is what you would expect. Much like the video for "Genesis", Kill V Maim has the same glossy, Mad Max meets female dancers vibe going on, but this time it has a bit more of a Japanese art feeling to it. Quite a departure from her earlier videos, but not in a bad way. Let us know your thoughts.

A jacket for all seasons | Pantone Colorwear

I know, I know, it barely feels like winter has come at all this year, but we still have a few more months of winter left to weather out, and anything could happen. Yay, Canada! But instead of getting too Dashboard about it, it’s all about looking forward to making the deep freeze as fun, fashionable and versatile as possible. On that note, Pantone Colorwear is proud to announce the launch of “The System Jacket.” It includes three elements that can be combined into one amazing jacket, or mixed and matched allowing for nine different jacket options.

Marc De Storm

I don’t know about you, but I bike absolutely everywhere: to the gym, over to the office, from errand to errand, home from the bar (although admittedly that’s usually not a great idea). It’s an integral part of my daily life here in the city. Unfortunately, most clothing doesn’t make a seamless transition between your biking self and your everything-else self. That’s what makes Marc De Storm so amazing. A Montreal-based company, Marc De Storm produces contemporary cycling wear that is functional both on and off a bicycle.

MIKAL CRONIN | RETURNING HOME

Mikal Cronin is at peace and at home. Not necessarily in that spiritually re-awakened, opening moments of a movie trailer kind of way, though truthfully there's been a bit of that going on too. His third solo album, the aptly-titled and surprisingly orchestrated garage-pop masterpiece MCIII, is a lush examination of various discomforting truths and concepts of self-doubt.
