NU KIND

An ever-changing collection of classic and curiously unique designs, NU KIND, designed and produced in Vancouver, is the embodiment of influence, inspiration, love, and self-exploration. Each piece is designed with utmost simplicity in hopes that it will be worn and styled however desired, with no limitations, and that their wearers—and even non-wearers —will feel the spirit and passion behind the brand. This fall, NU KIND has taken their three classic pieces and incorporated the timeless quality of vintage denim.

Alice In Montreal

It’s around this time of year that my daily craving for iced coffee is replaced by a craving for a nice mug of tea. But just like McLuhan talked about the medium being the message, I think the vessel plays a big part in the beverage experience. Alice in Montreal is a small Montreal-based company that produces beautiful personalized mugs that are hand-painted with chalk porcelain paint. Whether you want to rep your country, city, or even neighbourhood, company owner Aurélia Turon-Lagot can make it happen.

CREATIVE DIFFERENCES | ROUND VI

ION Magazine and Grolsch are proud to present the sixth installment of CREATIVE DIFFERENCES, a series of interactive art competitions where teams of artists compete against each other for 2 hours of live painting on large canvases. The guests determine the winner of the competition, and the prize is $1000 in cold-hard-cash. Creative Differences started in 2014, with parties in both Vancouver and Toronto.

Coleman Hell

There must be something in the water, because it seems like everyone wants a piece of Coleman Hell these days. It's been a giant 2015 for the Toronto-based, Thunder Bay-bred singer, with his banjo-fied house pop banger "2 Heads" having racked up millions of listens on Spotify and nuzzled up to other radio hits on both sides of the border.

WRKDEPT

A ready-to-wear satirical street brand, WRKDEPT is all about taking a tongue-in-cheek approach to pop culture and fashion. Montreal-based creator Andy Long Hoang started by releasing a five t-shirt collection in 2013, and since then the brand has grown by leaps and bounds, now offering complete lines that combine a variety of materials and textures, such as wood, denim, Velcro and leather.
