Pablo Aracena | Graphic Difference

Pablo Aracena, a.k.a. Pax Arts, a Canadian of Chilean origin, came to Canada as a youth with his family in the late 1980s. Immersed in hip-hop music and culture as a kid, he would spend hours drawing graffiti sketches and characters. He pursued a degree in Art and Design, and eventually, his passion for graphic design combined with his interest in street wear. This led him to discover the medium of screen-printing and to create his own custom T-shirt line, Artcore Clothing.

NXNE line-up announcement [video]

Our besties over at NXNE just dropped their full line-up for their festival. Not only are we excited about the acts that they are bringing in, we love this clever little video they did to make the announcement. We will also be making some announcements soon on a contest that will take you and a friend to NXNE on us. Stay tuned for that, but in the meantime have a watch and enjoy.

NSFW | TOBACCO "Streaker" by Eric Wareheim [video]

Eric Wareheim took an old porn VHS that one of the older kids hid in the woods, shoved it into Max Renn from Videodrome's chest vagina alongside the living-breathing nightmare tape and scored it to Tobacco's "Streaker". The results are horrifying, disgusting, and full of dark corners. But let's be honest, who doesn't want to explore a dark corner? I'm calling 1-844-TOBAXXO for a tour.

Wolf Circus

What’s Wolf Circus you ask? Started by Fiona Morrison while still in university in 2011, Wolf Circus is a collection of drool-at-the-mouth jewellery pieces that we want to get our hands/necks/ears/wrists on, really rather badly. Started up after Morrison noticed the attention and conversation a single piece of jewellery could garner, she launched a bold, bright and raw collection, which does just that with eye-catching designs, quality stones and raw diamonds.

WORLD EXCLUSIVE | UnMap remix Shadow Boxer

Any new jungle in, guy? It’s tough to think of drum & bass and its more syncopated counterpart as being made with brass instruments and guitars, and it’s even more difficult to think of a way to remix a song from a band whose dynamic is definitely unique. Somehow, UnMap has, delivering a future-funk R&B equivalent of Shapeshifter’s single “Shadow Boxer” from their latest  album, Delta.

Needs & Wants | J'M'EN Sac and Macbook

There’s something thrilling about not giving a rat’s behind. Show how much you don’t care about anything with this handmade, ink on canvas bag from Montreal’s MCMarquisDesign. This carry-all is perfect for anyone who doesn’t care but has to shlep stuff around. Technically “J’m’en sac” means “I don’t bag” but you should bag, this bag. You just shouldn’t care.

Needs & Wants | Cartel Footwear

We have been loving the timeless design of Cartel Footwear's leather boot collection. So, of course, we were excited to see this year's Spring/Summer collection of shoes and sandals! The 2016 collection is influenced by two unique and completely contrasting sources, late 70’s English Mod and Club culture and the Old West, through pairing materials such as patent leather and metallic materials, or natural suede, tassels and subtle Cordovan lining.

Andreas Scheiger | Upcycle Fetish

We all know vintage cycling racing has its own niche market, which has been on the rise recently—think Rouleur magazine and Musette Caffe in Vancouver (yes, we just noticed the distinctly European feel)—and we may have just stumbled across our favourite within this said niche. Austrian artist Andreas Scheiger’s “Upcycle Fetish” project combines vintage racing and a love of upcycling scrap bike parts, with incredible and dynamic pieces of utility art.
